MAX1967ESA+T/MAX1967EUB+T is a voltage mode pulse width modulation (PWM), step-down DC-DC controller, which is very suitable for applications with strict cost requirements. These devices drive low-cost N-channel MOSFET high-end switches and synchronous rectifiers, and do not require external Schottky power diodes or current sensing resistors. Provide short-circuit and current limiting protection by detecting the drain source voltage of low-end FETs. Both devices can provide output voltages as low as 0.8V, making them ideal for powering DSP cores and other low-voltage logic circuits.
The input voltage range of MAX1966ESA+T is 2.7V to 5.5V; the input voltage range of MAX1967EUB+T is 2.7V to 28V. In the ultra-low cost design, MAX1966ESA+T/MAX1967EUB+T can provide an efficiency of over 90%, and by optimizing the selection of external components, the efficiency can reach 95%.
MAX1966ESA+T/MAX1967EUB+T operates at a frequency of 100kHz and allows for the use of aluminum electrolytic capacitors and iron powder cores in low-cost designs. If high-performance surface mount components are selected, they can also provide better performance indicators. The MAX1966ESA+T adopts a low-cost 8-pin SO package, while the MAX1967EUB+T adopts a 10 pin µ MAX package.
